Week #1. New Designs!




End of week #1, I've tackled some problems with the Camera pushing the player down. I've revised the pace of the game, now it feels faster and dynamic. I have yet to revise the spawning of enemies. There are moments without enemies, and that feels off.
Where I spend most of my time is on working over new designs for the main character and the ships. The premise of the game is that you can play in air, like a traditional schmup. But also, that you can land making the more feel like a tank schmup.
My vision is a blend between the aesthetic of Megaman X, and Megaman Zero, with elements of Mecha and Gundam. But my digital art skills are non-existent. Therefore, I resorted to programming, because that's where I shine. For the past weeks, I've gone through the rabbit hole of AI-Generated Images, or GenAI for short. Although the precise term is 'computer-generated images through stable diffusion', but "GenAI" sells better.
I'm thinking about writing some tutorial about this, because boy I have so much to share. For now, here are some cool new designs of the characters, enemies and ships. A whole different story is how the he** I'll port them to the game.
